How hypnotherapy can help to overcome emotional problems.

Practicing hypnotherapy in Plymouth, much of my work involves helping clients to understand and control their own emotions, such as anger, fear, sadness, and possessive love. Hypnotherapy can help people to control their own emotions through various methods. For instance, a big part of our emotions is physical- the rapid pulse and muscle tension experienced in extreme fear or anger. When we learn to control these physical reactions, we can more easily control the emotions associated with them. In a calmer frame of mind, we can examine and question our emotional reactions, and judge whether they are excessive or harmful to us. Without damping down the excess emotion, such rational thinking is impossible. We can only react instinctively like a baby or an animal. There are also ways of using the imagination to control emotion. These techniques can be taught most easily through hypnotherapy, because hypnosis enhances the power and flexibility of the imagination.
